Joshua Leon Eguia

J O S H U A L E O N E G U I A is a queer, latinx artist based in NYC. Born in Texas, he attended the University of Houston school of Theatre and Dance where he earned dual degrees in both Acting and Dance. Since, his works have spanned the Dance, Choreography, Acting, Modeling and Commercial industries.
He has collaborated in the creation of original roles including with Vladimir Varnava for the International Touring Production of Natalia Osipova’s Isadora. He has danced and created with notable choreographers and companies including Karole Armitage, The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Alison Clancy, MinuteZero, Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center, Bill T. Jones, Marc Jacobs, VRSNL, and Arthur Aviles Typical Dance Theatre.
His work has been commissioned by Dance Source Houston, SUNY FREDONIA, and has been presented at venues including Austin Dance Festival, Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, Four in the Mix, BAAD!, and Moving Men.
His works “The Mary Go Round Broke Down” and “Variance” have been awarded Best Choreography and Best Artist Collaboration. Joshua Leon Eguia is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
